Jayson Ho believes that being arrogant is not innate to anyone. Circumstances in our lives can lead a person to become presumptuous or arrogant. When parents are untruthful to their kids or the people around you do not give sincere opinions, the person will be left an impression that he is doing well.

Jayson gave two vital steps on how we can portray confidence without crossing the boundary of arrogance. First, you need to self-reflect – this means you need to know yourself. Jayson says he needs to evaluate himself and know his own weaknesses. This can be done in several ways – when you are singing or doing public speaking, ask someone to record you. You can then observe and scrutinize on your tone, body language, posture, facial expressions, etc…

The second is to seek honest feedback. You need to find a person that will share honest opinions to you. There are few people surrounding you that can give positive criticism and this is what you are looking for. This will help you analyze yourself and improve for the better.
As Jayson said, “People are arrogant because they just think they are right and the reason they think they are right is because no one ever proved to them that they are wrong.”
